How do you say "the best" or "the tallest" in French?

le/la/les plus + adjective: "le plus grand" (the tallest). le/la/les moins + adjective: "le moins cher" (the least expensive).
Why
Position: after the noun for most adjectives: "le livre le plus intéressant". Before the noun for short common adjectives: "le plus grand livre".
