Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Pratice uses on pratice.ca, why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between visits — like whether you're logged in, what language you prefer, and whether you've already seen a message. Some cookies are essential for the site to work at all. Others are optional.
2. The short version
Pratice uses only essential cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not use third-party tracking cookies, and we do not sell any data collected through cookies. Everything we set exists to make the platform function correctly and safely.
3. Cookies we set
Session cookie — PHPSESSID
Set when you log in. It holds a random session ID that lets our server
recognize you across page loads. It expires when you close your browser or
after your session times out. It is marked HttpOnly (not
accessible to JavaScript) and SameSite=Lax (not sent on
cross-site requests). Essential — cannot be turned off without breaking
login.
CSRF token — stored in the session
A random value added to every form you submit, used to verify that the
submission actually came from your browser and not a malicious site. It
lives inside your session cookie, not as a separate cookie. Essential.
PWA install prompt — beforeinstallprompt (in memory only)
When you use Pratice as a Progressive Web App (add it to your home screen),
your browser may show a small install prompt. This is handled entirely by
your browser; we do not store anything about it. Essential to the PWA
experience, not a persistent cookie.
Service-worker cache — pratice-v1
Used by the PWA to store static assets (CSS, JS, icons, offline page) so
pages load quickly and work offline. This is browser storage, not a cookie,
and it contains no personal information. You can clear it at any time from
your browser settings. Optional — clearing it only affects load speed.
4. Cookies we do NOT set
- No advertising or marketing cookies;
- No third-party analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.);
- No social-media tracking pixels;
- No cross-site tracking of any kind;
- No cookie-based profiling.
If we ever add analytics, we will use a privacy-respecting, cookie-less provider and update this policy first.
5. Third-party services
PayPal. When you click "Pay with PayPal," you are redirected to PayPal's own site. PayPal may set its own cookies on its domain. Those are governed by PayPal's privacy policy, not ours. We never see or store the cookies PayPal sets.
No other third-party service sets cookies on pratice.ca.
6. How to control cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here's where to find them:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Note: If you block the session cookie, you will not be able to log in or book a lesson. This cookie is essential for the platform to function. Blocking the PWA service-worker cache only affects offline access and page-load speed.
7. Do Not Track
Because we do not track you across websites, we do not need to respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals. If we ever change this, we will update this policy and provide a response mechanism.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced by email or through the platform.
