Order: "Je voudrais..., s'il vous plaît." Ask for the menu: "La carte, s'il vous plaît." Pay: "L'addition, s'il vous plaît." Leave tip only if service was good (5–10%).
Why
"La carte" = the menu. "Le menu" in French actually means a fixed-price set meal.
