How do you make a negative sentence in French?

Model answer

Wrap the verb: ne + verb + pas. "Je parle" → "Je ne parle pas." In spoken French, "ne" is often dropped: "Je parle pas."

Why

Other negatives: ne...jamais (never), ne...plus (no longer), ne...rien (nothing), ne...personne (nobody).
